Requirements “5 S” All players – including Goalkeeper • Shoes • Shin guards • Socks • Shorts (GK-pants) • Shirt (different color for GK) • All must be SAFE
Safe Shoes “Safe” means doesn’t endanger other players Tactical advantage is irrelevant (i.e. slippery)
Other Consideration • Socks cover the shinguards • Shinguards offer reasonable protection • Cold weather gloves, knit hats, etc. Use common sense. • Glasses – allowed if prescription.
Other Items • Jewelry is not allowed • Including cloth, plastic, rubber, etc. (No “Livestrong” bracelets) • No covering items with tape • Medical & religious items excepted • Must be made safe • If leagues have special rules – referee must enforce
