  2. Los Adjetivos… Adjectives have to match in gender in number.Él es alto.Ella es baja.

  3. Comparing to someone else… In English, we add –er to adjectives to make them stronger.He is taller than her. She is shorter than him.

  4. Comparing to someone else… In English, we also use “more” or “less” in front of the adjective. She is more bored than him.He is less bored than her.

  5. Comparing to someone else… In Spanish, there is no –er equivalent. Rather, they use: more/less + adjective + thanmás/menos + adjetivo + que Ella está más aburrida que él.

  6. El patinaje sobre hielo es menospeligrosoque el hockey.

  7. Las chicas son másanimadasque los chicos.

  9. Comparisons… When a number follows an unequal comparison in an affirmative sentence, “que” is replaced by “de.” Tengo másdecinco perros…tengo seis.

  14. Superlatives In English, we add --est to signify an extreme or when we are comparing it to 2 or more items.He is the ugliest.She is the prettiest. We can also add “least” or “most” in front of the adjective.The most pretty.The least ugly.

  15. Superlatives In Spanish, we use: definite article + más/menos + adjective (el, la, los, las) The definite article has to match the first noun in gender and number. Ella es la más bonita. Ella es la menos fea.

  18. Julia and Sara are the nicest. Julia y Sara son las más simpáticas.

  19. Irregulars… The best = definite article + mejor Para mí, el futbol es elmejor deporte.

  21. Irregulars… The worst = definite article + peor Para mí, el golf es el peor deporte.

  24. Equal Comparisons (adj/adv) To compare adjectives and adverbs…tan + adjective/adverb + como (as) (as) Un elefante es tanbonitocomo una jirafa.

  27. Equal Comparisons (nouns) When you want to say that a person has as many of something as someone else, use:tanto/tanta/tantos/tantas + noun + como (as many) (as) Ella tiene tantasmanzanascomo yo.
