A key concept of the Reshaping Care agenda is that of co-production, in other words involving all stakeholders in every level of designing and delivering services

  4. Royal Voluntary Service • Founded in 1938. • Stella Reading Founder who quoted “ We are only achieved by one desire, how we help our community”. • 35,000 volunteers in UK • Supporting over 100,000 people

  5. Designing Dundee Service • Co designed and co produced with a wide range of stakeholders • Celebrate Age Network focus groups • Test of change based on identified need • Asset based approach • Ageing society and challenges that presents • Aim to inspire volunteers

Royal Voluntary Service Dundeeaims • To provide practical and emotional support to patients on their return from hospital. • Promote independence and choice • Enable individual to stay in their own home and settle back in to their community • Support the transition from hospital to home at optimum moment when ready for discharge

  8. Activity • 37 volunteers • 66 people using the service • Amounts to 1546 volunteer hours • Open referral process: Self,Ninewells, Bluebell Unit, Royal Victoria Hospital
