    6. Budget Everything needs a budget, no matter how inconsequential an item may seem, it has a cost. Note donations, gifts, volunteer hours as part of your budget plan. Find out what your budget will NOT allow so you wont waste time researching those ideas. Know your spending deadlines and keep them!

    7. What to Offer Be realistic Be open-minded Accept help in any form Stick to the plan but be flexible Review and Reflect Make adjustments as necessary Plan for next year: New and Improved! Be realistic You are one person. Know your goals. Be open-minded New ideas are all around us. Listen to your patrons. Accept help in any form But be practical. Can you use good help or sloppy help? Does the assistance offered help to meet your goals? Think carefully and plan effectively. Stick to the plan but be flexible You cant think of everything! Do your best but know that situations arise that require flexibility on your part to encourage patrons into the school library. Everyone is welcome! Review and Reflect Periodically review your plan. Is it working? Are your statistics reflecting a growth in usage? Where can you make subtle changes that wont be disruptive to meeting the goals? Be an effective communicator and talk to your staff, and patrons. Is it working for them? Make adjustments as necessary Sometimes the best intentions just dont work so if patrons are having difficulties, put yourself in their shoes. What would you want to happen to make your visit to the library a pleasant one? Plan for next year: New and Improved! Did any group get left out of the plan? Were there enough activities and programs to satisfy 85-97% of your patrons? What do you need to make it a better program for next school year?Be realistic You are one person. Know your goals.
