  13. Warning Signs • Increase or decrease in weight • Obvious signs of substance abuse • Changes in concentration, motivation or energy level • Withdrawal • Aggressiveness • Crying

  14. Warning Signs • Written of verbal statements that indicate despondency • Family or relationship problems • References to harming • Concern of peers

  15. Making a Referral • Don’t promise confidentiality • You have reached your comfort limit • You have become too close to the situation • Student expresses thoughts of suicide
