  10. 15 Thought for the day… Journal (5 minutes) If we breathe using our lungs, how do really small things like fish, worms, and bees breathe? Do they even breathe air at all? Do you think that they have the same or different parts? What makes you think so?

Food Webs • As we look at the image behind, please note the how the food moves and the amount of food dependant upon the Phytoplankton. • Now begin thinking about what happens to the plastic in the ocean that is getting smaller from the turbidity of the waves and UV Degradation. • Who can safely eat and pass the plastic? • Who can not? What happens when that species dies?

  42. Respiratory system • Works on the premise, that if you lower the pressure inside the body, higher air pressure from outside will travel in. • The reverse happens when you exhale. Pressure is increased in body, air moves from low pressure to high pressure.

  43. Respiratory System • Hiccups are the result of a stimulated/irritated phrenic nerve (the nerve to the diaphragm) as well as maybe theVegus nerve • Your Respiratory system is lined with Mucus. • Purpose-To catch dirt/dust/pollen/bacteria for eventual expectoration.
