The journey of faith begins with the joy of new believers in Christ, akin to "sprouts" in need of time and nurturing. As we move from basic teachings toward spiritual maturity (Heb. 6:1), it's essential to allow growth while ensuring progress in the right direction. God provides for our needs, protects us, and empowers us through Christ and fellow believers. In contrast, we face hindrances from Satan, who instigates distractions and false doctrines. Embrace the desire for spiritual growth and press on to perfection in the faith!

GOING ON TO PERFECTION “Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God…” (Heb. 6:1).
The Beginning of Eternal Life • Is beautiful and essential. • How excited we are about a new soul in the body of Christ. • But they are new “sprouts”. • It takes time to mature and bear fruit. • Give time, but make progress in the correct direction. • From earth to heaven – Col. 1:12-13; 2 Peter 1:5-11
To Help Us - God • Supplies our needs – Phil. 4:19; Matt. 6:25ff • Protects us beyond our own abilities - I Cor. 10:13. • Our helper always – Heb. 4:16; 13:6
To Help Us - Christ • Intercedes for us – Heb. 7:25 – still. • Gives us strength – 2 Cor. 12:9.
To Help Us – Other Christians • Work together with us – 2 Cor. 6:1 • Help bear burdens – Gal. 6:1 • Pray for each other – Eph. 1:16.
To Hinder Us - Satan • Seduces with works of the flesh – Gal. 5:17 • Produces enemies of Christ – Phil. 3:18 • Inspires false doctrines • Shows us the allure of the world – I John 2:15ff
These Create Within Us • Indifference about spirituality • Carelessness about worship attendance • Thoughtless about lost souls • Selfishness
