Committees of Correspondence. The first committee, organized by Samuel Adams in Massachusetts in 1772, was local in character. The following year the Virginia legislature organized a committee representing the entire colony. Eleven other colonies formed similar groups within a year.

The following year the Virginia legislature organized a committee representing the entire colony. Eleven other colonies formed similar groups within a year What are they?
