Ambulance service workload • 5 million 999 calls per year (England) of which: • 4 million incidents attended, of which: • One million are potentially life threatened cases • Three million go to hospital • But half may not need A&E care Key Groups: • Sick – don’t know why - Older fallers – no injury • Abdominal pains - Minor injuries
