ASO Address Council • Continued to observe progress in the establishment of LACNIC and AFRINIC new RIRs. • LACNIC expected to become an operational RIR at conclusion of current (Shanghai) meeting • LACNIC has made preparations to elect ASO AC members at their November 2002 meeting following ICANN approval of operational status • LACNIC and AFRINIC representatives have actively participated in all current ASO activities and in the ICANN reform process ICANN Meeting, Shanghai 2002

  5. ASO Address Council • Establishing standard BoD selection process (to be published by Jan 2003) • Discussion ongoing to review RFC 2050 and its current relation to active policy. • Global Mailing list for discussion: Rfc2050-wg@arin.net ICANN Meeting, Shanghai 2002

ASO Address Council • AC is working closely with RIRs on ICANN reform process discussions • Helping to lead discussions at RIR local meetings • Initiated discussions on RIR public policy mailing lists • Participating in task force to discuss RIR blueprint with ICANN ERC • Working on transition plan for new BoD structure ICANN Meeting, Shanghai 2002
