  4. Blue Gourami • pH 6.8 - 7.0 • Temp 76-82 deg F. • Egg layers • Are territorial. • Many varied colors and unique forward elongated feelers give the fish a special look. Needs larger tank and likes strong current from filter.

Chinese Algae Eater • Chinese algae eaters come from India and Thailand. • 72 - 82 F • PH  7 • Breeding Difficult, egg layer • Temperament / Behavior : As a juvenile it should be ok in a community tank but as it matures it can become a pest and should be removed from community tanks. It's probably best not to get them for community tanks in the first place. There are better algae eaters available for community tank setups • Diet / Fish Food : Mostly algae but reported to eat algae less as it matures. Supplement with algae wafers • Tankk Region : Mostly on the bottom and sometimes on the tank walls and plant leaves.

  6. Comet Goldfish Temperature 65 -72°F. (actually are an outdoor fish and can tolerate a wide range of temperatures.) pH - 7.0 - 7.5 They eat a variety of flake and pellet food, as well as plant material.  Comets have a single tail Goldfish like a large tank with well-aerated water Mild tempered, hardy and easy to keep Breeding occurs in temperatures around 75 degrees Fahrenheit and can result in hundreds of eggs.  The fry hatch in five to six days

  7. Fantail Goldfish Fantail Goldfish has two tails and two top fins. Goldfish are incredibly messy fish that need large tanks, powerful filtration, and regular maintenance.

  8. Black Moor Goldfish • This goldfish is mostly black, although it may also have some gold coloration. The Moor's eyes stick out on the sides - a very interesting characteristic. The Moor should be kept in very clean water from 46 - 68 degrees F.

Dwarf Gourami • The Dwarf Gourami is one of the small members of the Gourami family. • Temperature 73.4 - 82.4 F • PH of water 6.5 - 8.0 • Temperament / Behavior : Mostly peaceful and hardy, they are good fish for beginners. • Breeding / Mating / Reproduction :Can be difficult. They build bubble nests for their eggs. • Tank Region : Middle to top • Males are a little bit larger than the females. There are several color variations, including Blue/Powder Blue, Neon, Rainbow, and Red/Blushing.

Guppies • Temp 72-78 deg F • pH 7.0-7.8 • Live bearer • Schooling fish Keep at least 3 females for each male • Males are more colorful • Temperament / Behavior : This is a peaceful and hardy fish that is good for beginners. • Diet / Fish Food : Give them flakes, freeze dried and live foods. Vary their diet for optimum colors and health. • Tank Region : Middle to top

  11. Harlequin Rasbora • Temperature 72 to 80 • pH 5.5 – 7.0 • Care: Very easy, requires no special attention. • Feeding: Omnivorous. Will take live, frozen or flake foods.Care: Require larger tanks with lots of free swimming space, with plants on the sides. school of 4-8 The fish are quiet and undisturbing to other tank inhabitants, since they don't swim around nervously. • Tank area middle and upper regions of the tank. • Breeding: Difficult egg layers. • It has the signature black triangle shape that starts at the dorsal fin and continues to the caudal fin.

Jack Dempsey • Temperature 75 – 82 • pH 5.8 -7.5 • Diet / Fish Food : Usually very good eaters, they will take flakes, pellets, freeze dried (blood worms, brine shrimp and especially live foods. • Breeding If you have a mated pair, it is very easy to breed them. Give them a pot or cave structure and the female will drop the eggs with the male following after her fertilizing the eggs. • Tank Region : Middle to bottom • Provide them with a cave or other territory they can call their own and they should settle in quickly.

  13. Mollies • pH 7.0-7.8 Temp 74 - 78 deg. F • Live bearers provide lots of vegetation to help young survive and also for food. • Prefer hard alkaline water and some some salt in the water (1 teaspoon per gallon) • Not as easy to keep

Breeding : They reach sexual maturity at 4 inches and will form life long pairs. Keep the water temperature around 82°F (28°C) and provide a spot for them to place the eggs. A large rock would work well. Diet / Fish Food : Omnivore, will eat flakes, pellets, freeze dried and live foods. Give them a varied diet with lots of protein. Tank Region : All areas Try to get the best filtration system possible for them and be prepared to perform frequent water changes

  15. Platies • Origin Ciudad Veracruz, Mexico to northern Belize • Maximum Size: 2.5 inch • Care: A hardy and easy fish to take care of. Prefers slightly alkaline water, the minimum tank size is 5 gallons. • Feeding: Be sure to provide a variety of foods, preferably live ones, because a nutritious, complete diet will enhance their colors and ensure good health. Keep in mind that they will eat their young if they are small enough. • Breeding: Very easy to breed in the normal livebearer fashion. • Sexing:The females are bigger than the males. Males have a gonopodium.

  19. Black Skirt Tetra • Ideal pH level would be 6.0 -7.2, • water temperature of 73-85°F. • Found in South America. • This fish is territorial but peaceful. It is a schooling fish so it should not be kept on it's own.. • Males tend to be smaller than females, with a more pointed dorsal fin. • Your tank lighting should not be too bright and the planting scheme should open out towards the middle of the tank. .

Cardinal Tetra - Paracheirdon alexrodi • Ideal pH level would be 6.0 -7.2, • Water temperature of 73-85°F. • This fish measures about 4 - 5cm. • Schooling fish, best-kept in-groups over 6 or over. • It is considered the most beautiful fish of all by many aquarists. • Sexing is easier with mature specimens, females are broader. • Breeding is harder than most but not impossible to achieve.

  21. Lemon Tetra - Hyphessobrycon pulchripinnis • pH 6.8 Temperature 72 -79 deg F • Good community fish. Origin is the Amazon basin. This species is an attractive addition to any tetra aquarium despite its lack of high coloration. • The top of eye is very red. The body is transparent with a slight yellowish tinge. Mature males can be determined by brighter markings on their fins as well as being slimmer than females. You will find that the hardness will affect coloration, if the water is too hard then the coloration will drop considerably. Does best in subdued lighting with open space for swimming. Fairly easy to breed but it is best done with a breeding tank.

  24. Rosy Tetra - Hyphessobrycon bentosi bentosi • Measures about 4-5cm. Best kept in small groups (several pairs). Females are plumper and have pennant-shaped dorsal fin. Requires a densely planted aquarium with space in the center of the tank for swimming. Plants should change to 'bushy' type towards the middle regions of the tank. Dark substrate preferred.

  28. Silver Hatchet Fish - Gasteropelecus sternicia • pH 6.4-6.8 Temp 72-78 deg F • Can be found in South America, Amazon tributaries, Brazil, Guyana, Peru. Males of the species are more slender when viewed from above. This fish has not yet been bred in captivity. • Can grow to 3" and it tends to be shy so hiding places are required in your tank decor. The tank needs to be covered with a substantial hood, as this fish tends to jump! Tends to stay in the upper regions of the tank because of its upturned  mouth. This fish requires a lot of oxygen. Good community fish Best in schools of 4 or more

  29. Corydoras • pH6.9 Temp 76 deg F • Can swallow air from the surface. If they are making several trips to the surface, it indicates a water problem in the aquarium • Group spawners - 3 males to every female
