Working in human resource is an exciting and interesting opportunity where you get to meet and interact with new people all the time. The work of the human resource department is to ensure that a company has proper balance of staff, managing their payrolls and assisting employees in their professional and sometimes personal conflicts too. It’s not that only big companies have HRs, small businesses need them too. However, HRs in big organizations has more sophisticated responsibilities; but in small companies, HR can be real talent recognizers and problem solvers. In smaller organizations, HR managers still play traditional roles like recruitment, evaluation process, payrolls, and most importantly – on staff therapist. One should have a proper formal education in human resource management to be a HR manager; and a qualified person does not work for cupcakes! But shelling out chunks of money on a single operation is not smart for a small business. What they always teach in arts school is “your talents are independent of your academics”.
