  3. IDEA • One sentence answer to the question • Topic sentence of the paragraph • Includes main words of the question

  4. Insert • Weave in quoted lines from the story • Always introduce the quotes by showing who is speaking or what is happening in the scene

  5. Interpret • Clarify/further explain your evidence • Never just repeat what you wrote in the quote

  6. Insight • Conclusion sentence • Make an inference • Pull it all together by stating what is revealed
