Possible initial implementation activities & projects • Establish Framework leadership & management • Define national mandates in climate services provision • Strengthen capabilities in disaster risk reduction • Improve communication between climate, agriculture and food security communities • Enhance partnerships between climate services and water resources management • Develop national working groups in climate and health • Improve decision-making on climate-related risks • Strengthen climate information regional infrastructure • Advance in data recovery and digitizing • Launch pilot projects

End 2012: A detailed GFCS implementation plan aligned with WMO Congress decisions will be considered at the inaugural Framework Board intergovernmental plenary meeting; End 2013: Organizational phase completed, including supporting secretariat and the relevant management & technical committee structures; End 2017: Global access to improved climate services for the 4 initial priority sectors, establishing the relevant technical committees and a communication programme; completion of GFCS implementation mid-term review; End 2021: Global access to improved climate services across all climate sensitive sectors Anticipated GFCS milestones beyond the WMO Congress extraordinary session 14
