  2. Asia is Asia is the largest and most populous continent or region - 8.6% of the Earth's total surface area, or 29.4% of its land area - more than 60% of the world's human population - About 1/3 of World GDP(PPP): US$18.077 trillion [World: US$59.38 trillion] UN/CEFACT Rapporteur for Asia

Single Window Definition A facility that allows parties involved in trade and transport to lodge standardized information and documents with a single entry point to fulfill all import, export and transit- related regulatory requirements. Single Window is basically built at the national level. (Single Window) aims to expedite and simplify information flows between trade and government. ASW (ASEAN Single Window) Technical Guide The Technical Guide of ASW and NSWs Implementation is the compilation of relevant internationally accepted standards, procedures, documents, glossary, technical details and formalities to be adopted as deemed appropriate by Member Countries, subject to regular reviews and updates in line with new technology and development as deemed necessary by Member Countries. In Summary ▣ There are increasing trend of Regional SW initiatives ▣ Regional SW initiative can be an effective platform for facilitating regional and global trade. ▣ Pioneering regional SW initiative [ex) ASEAN] is a good bench-marking reference for other regional bodies [ex) SAARC] for future implementation. ▣ In initiating regional SW initiative, full consideration should be given to the use of available international standard [ex) UNeDocs], scalable, adaptable and accommodating global trade, for information flows.
