Explaining the MSC What is the MSC Malaysia? • Federal Government initiative to re-create Silicon Valley in Malaysia • Started out as a greenfield site built within a corridor close to the heart of the capital in 1996. • Has now spreading its wings throughout the country • MSC has attracted 1,510 MSC-status companies, of which 71 are MNCs and 367 are foreign-owned • Malaysia is the only country where the Federal Government provides a comprehensive Bill of Guarantees to investors in the MSC

Summary on Skills Sets Requirements • Generally, skills sets in Software Engineering category appear to be the most difficult to recruit. • In Programming category, MSC-status companies find it hard to recruit people with Java and J2EE skills. • There is a demand in Network and Web Security professionals. • In Server Administration category, professionals in Linux and Unix are greatly needed. • There is a shortage of XML developers. Undergraduate Skills Programme Objective Increase Talent Pool Selection Criteria Undergraduates (Final Year) Structure 3 ~ 8 weeks training followed by company industrial attachment • (arranged by IHL). Training on Industry Tools plus on-the-job project implementation. Full training sponsorship by MDeC. Outcome Knowledge in specific skills: J2EE, MS.Net, C++, SAP, VLSI Design/DSP, Macromedia Director, MAYA, Windows Server 2003, Linux, PHP/MySQL, SQL Server, etc. How to Apply? Graduate Trainee Programme Objective Assist companies with costs of on-the-job-training and offers real-life working experience to fresh graduates Selection Criteria Malaysian fresh graduates with minimum qualification of Diploma with less than 6 months after graduation.
