Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching Each year, since 1983, the President of the United States recognizes outstanding kindergarten–6th grade or 7th–12th-grade mathematics and science teachers by bestowing upon them the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). The 2010 PAEMST program will honor kindergarten – 6th grade science with a $10,000 award and recognition ceremonies in Washington, DC. To nominate yourself or someone else visit www.paemst.org by April 1, 2010 • Presidential awardees receive: • a citation signed by the President of the United States • a paid trip for two to Washington DC to attend a series • of recognition events and professional development • opportunities • a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation

  7. Opportunities NanoTeach is recruiting teachers for a year-long, nationwide pilot program starting in the summer of 2010. Utilizing the Designing Effective Science Instruction (DESI) framework, teachers will learn to integrate nanoscience and technology content (NS&T) into their existing curricula.
