  3. Chocolate Chip Cookie FUNShop – The Class Activity FUNShop Goals: Time-challenged consumers may select the convenience of pre-packaged cookies, mixes or refrigerated dough to save time. The FUNShop is an opportunity to explore several consumer choices for chocolate chip cookies where the skill of baking from scratch is learned. Participants would use blind taste testing to compare commercially baked, cookie mix, refrigerated dough and scratch-prepared chocolate chip cookies. Comparisons of taste, nutrition and costs would be made. http://www.homebaking.org/foreducators/funshop.html

  17. Why use a rubric? • You can tease out the area where the student(s) need help (in a real life situation) AND where they are doing well. • The student can use the rubric to help define expectations, during the activity. • It is a performance assessment – it is a test of competency.
