1. RNAV approachAMC Status B. RABILLER DGAC/DCS CNS/ATM Steering group meeting Brussels 01-02 July 08

2. AMC Status • RNP APCH • AMC 20-XX  AMC 20-27 • Includes APV Baro VNAV airworthiness and OPS criteria • Vertical Total system error clarified • Vertical Fly by capability clarified • NPA 2008-14 issued (dated 26 May 2008) • LPV • No change from last meeting • AMC 20-LPV Draft 1.2. • New EASA Rulemaking tasking is awaited

3. AMC Status • RNP AR APCH • AMC 20-XZ  AMC 20-26 • A/C failure effects on the navigation performance have been refined: • A/C remains in the 1xRNP corridor when probable failure occured • A/C remains in the 1xRNP corridor in OEI condition • A/C remains in the 2xRNP corridor when remote failure occured • A/C remains manoeuvrable and a safe extraction may be flown when extremely remote failure occured • NPA 2008-14 issued (dated 26 May 2008)

4. Vertical Total System Error requirement driven by consistency with the procedure design criteria Vertical TSE compatible with the obstacle clearance criteria Vertical clearance of 322 ft is intended to accommodate a 3σ TSE with an additional buffer VPA (3°) Max vertical clearance = 322 ft VPA + T° correction MOCApp FAS Obstacle protection ATT error MOCApp = 75m (246ft) ATT error = 556m (1824ft) AMC 20-27Vertical TSE clarification (1/2) Vertical TSE (3) + Buffer PANS OPS

5. AMC 20-27Vertical TSE clarification (2/2) • The Vertical Total System Error (using the Root Sum Square of all errors components) on a 99.7percent probability basis is as follow: More stringent compared to AC 20-129 Vert TSE(3) + Buffer = 322 ft ( on a 3° path) For instance, buffer = 100 ft for airport at altitude < 5000 ft

6. AMC 20-27Vertical Fly By transition capability clarification • Capability to automatically intercept the vertical path at the FAP using a vertical fly by technique • Required or recommended ? • This capability is a recommended Function FAP

7. NPA 2008-14/ AMC 20-27 • Document slighly amended by EASA compared to the submitted document • Comments before end of August --------------------------------------------------------------- • My comments: • The main comment is associated to Appendix 4 which is considered in the AMC as an airworthiness appendices whereas it is an operational section. • Other comments • VNAV equipment error should be 150 ft instead of 220 ft for altitude between 10000 and 15000ft (para 6.3.2.b) • ……
