  1. CEIAG – Careers Education Information, Advice and Guidance The Hollyfield School aims to achieve the Investors in Careers Kitemark Award This award will recognise the high standards of careers education for all key stages across the school. We are currently working towards achieving Stage 1 Hollyfield would be the first school in the borough of kingston to gain the award. The profile of the IAG in the school will be raised.

  2. Current issues with IAG • A new strategy for IAG was published in Oct 2009. • Statutory Guidance: Impartial Careers Education, was distributed to all schools in March 2010. (DCSF 2009) • Reports show that Ofsted are placing more importance on high standards of CEIAG (Careers Education, Information, Advice and guidance.)

  3. ‘Investor In Careers’ Kitemark • The ‘Investor in Careers’ award is a nationally recognised quality standard for the management of Careers Education and guidance (CEG) in schools. • In order to gain the award there are 3 stages of assessment criteria. • These criteria and the suggested evidence represents the journey that a school should take in order to gain the ‘Investor in Careers’ award.

  4. Investor in Careers • Once all aspects of the criteria have been completed and have been successfully assessed, we will then be awarded the kitemark for ‘Investors in careers’ • The timescale for completion is approx 2 years. • The kitemark is awarded for a period of 3 years, we are then revisited to ensure that we are maintaining our standards for us to continue using the kitemark for the next 3 years.
