Understanding ISE for FPGA with FIFO: Progress and Plans for Lightning Data Transformation
This project focuses on the integration of FPGA technology in a data collection system for lightning events. We successfully navigated understanding ISE for FPGA, locating pin-outs, and ensuring efficient data transfer through FIFO. Key tasks included implementing GPS-based PPS signals, evaluating FIFO source code, and addressing issues in our design process. Our strategy involves bypassing the FPGA to transfer data to a microcontroller, performing transformations using FFT, and planning for larger data collection areas for the USPLN project. We also simulated lightning events using a Marx generator.
