OUR CITY ,AYDIN-KUYUCAK -PAMUKÖREN • AYDIN • AYDIN IS A PROVINCE OF SOUTHWESTERN TURKEY, LOCATED IN THE AGEAN REGION.THE PROVINCIAL CAPITAL IS THE CITY OF AYDIN WHICH HAS A POPULATION OF APPROXIMATELY 150.000 • Thecoastaltowns of DidimandKuşadası in particulararetouristresorts. Kuşadası is neartothe Büyük Menderes Delta national park, while Didim has a temple of Apollo, beaches, andtheancientruins of Miletosnearby. Theprovincecontainsarcheologicalsites, includingtheancientCariancities of AlindaandAlabanda. • Aphrodisias (Greek: Ἀφροδισιάς, Aphrodisiás) was a smallcity in Caria, on thesouthwestcoast of AsiaMinor. Its site is locatednearthe modern village of Geyre, Turkey, about 230 km (140 mi) south-east of İzmirandabout 100 km (62 mi) inlandfromthecoast.

  5. AYDIN • Thecitywasbuiltnear a marblequarrythatwasextensivelyexploited in theHellenisticandRomanperiods, andsculpture in marblefrom Aphrodisias becamefamous in the Roman world. Manyexamples of statuaryhavebeenunearthed in Aphrodisias, andsomerepresentations of theAphrodite of Aphrodisias alsosurvivefromotherparts of the Roman world, as far afield as PaxJulia in Lusitania.[4] • Pamukören,ourtown ıs just 30 kılometersto Aphrodisias andmostprobablywewillhave a triptheredurıngyourvısıttoTurkey. • Aydın is Turkey'sleadingproducer of figs[andexportsdriedfigsworldwide. Aydın producesolives, chestnuts, cotton, citrusfruits, watermelonsandotherfruits. • IN OUR TOWN ,PAMUKÖREN ,OLIVE,FIGS,ORANGE AND TANGERINE ARE GROWN.

  6. Ourtown,pamukören • Pamukören is a smalltown in theDistrict of Kuyucak, Aydın Province, Turkey. As of 2010 it had a population of 3364 people.[1] • THE NAME OF THE TOWN PAMUK MEANS COTTON IN ENGLISH AND IT COMES FROM THE TIMES WHEN THE COTTON WAS PRODUCED A LOT IN THE TOWN

EDUCATION IN TURKEY • ACCORDING TO THE NEW REGULATION ,TWELVE YEARS OF EDUCATION INCLUDING PRIMARY-SECONDARY-HIGH SCHOOL IS OBLIGATORY IN OUR COUNTRY. • Thepre-schooleducation is not obligatoryanddependent on thewillandincludesthechildren of the 3-5 agegroup. • Theprimaryeducationcoverstheeducation of thechildrenbetweentheages of 6-11 forfouryearscontinuousperiod.Foreignlanguageeducation ,that is Englishstarts at 4th grade . • Then,there is anotherperiod of fouryearsbetweentheages of 11-14 tofinishelementaryschool. • TheSecondaryschoolEducationcoverstheentire general,Professional andtechnicalinstutionshavingfouryeareducationperiodand is independent on theprimaryeducation. • Besides,thedeliverance of minimum commonculturevalues,thestudentsarepreparedforthehighereducationwheretheeducationshould be directedtotheirinterests,skillsandcapacities. • Anatolian,Science,FineArts,vocational,TechnicalandIslamicTheologicalschoolsaredifferentfromthe General Highschool ,but arestill a part of thesecondaryeducationsystem. • Thehighereducationconsists of universities,faculties,researchcenters. • Studentsareadmittedtouniversitiesthrough a twophaseexaminationheldonce a year. • Thereare a total number of 58 universitiesexcludingtheprivateuniversitieswithmorethanonemillionstudents.

PAMUKÖREN HIGH SCHOOL • Ourschool is a general Secondaryfounded in 1969 in Pamukörentown.It is a smalland a lovelyschoolwith 12 classrooms, a library ,a conferencehall,a computerlabaratory,sciencelabaratoryand a smallcanteen. • Thereareapproximately 140 studentsandtwelveteachers , a headmasterand a assisstantdirector in ourschool. • OurclassroomsareequippedwithInteractiveWhite Board but it is not used yet ,theyhavejustbeen set up. • Allclasseshaveforeignlanguagelessons ,that is English ,at leasttwohours in a week. • Unfortunately ,wedon’thave a sportshall but ourschool has twofootballteams ,girls –boysandtwovolleyballteamsandthegirlteamwasthethird in thecity,Aydın. • WealsojointheNationalScienceandMaths Project competitions.

Educatıonınourschool –schoolsubjects • Schoolstarts at 08:30 forallthestudentsandfinish at 14 :40 for 10-11-12th graders ,finish at 16 :30 for 9th graders .Wehaveonehour of Lunch Break from 12 pmto 13:00 p.m. • SaturdaysandSundaysareweekendholidays. • Wehavetwolongtermholidays ,onesummerholidayfromJunetoSeptemberandonewinterholiday of twoweeks in February.Duringthereligiousfestivalsandnationalfestivals ,theschoolsareclosed. • 9th gradershaveclasses of 37 hours ,10th-11th-12th gradershave 30 hours in a week. • 9th graderstakeobligatorycourses,namelyMaths,physics,Chemistry,Biology,geometry,Hıstory,Geography,TurkıshliteratureandLanguages,English as foreignlanguage,PhysicalEducation,ReligiousEducation,Musicand Art andsomeelectivecourses. • 10th-11th-12th graderschoosetheirdepartmentandtakecourses of theirstudyfield,namelyScience,MathsandSocialSciencesandtheytakesomeelectivecoursesbased on theirstudyfieldagain.Theyhavealsoclasses of English,Art andGym. • Ourschool has alsoextraclasses of ScienceandMathsafterschoolfor 12th graderswhopreparefortheuniversityentranceexam.
