  2. Purpose of this SPSS Course • Introduction of quantitative analysis • Quantitative analysis through statistical software • Introduction to SPSS and statistical tests • Use of data generated in social worker research to demonstrate quantitative analysis and interpretation of results

  3. Structure with MSWC Curriculum • This SPSS and quantitative analysis short course can be used as a separate course or combined with the Making Social Work Count (MSWC) curriculum • Several sessions in this short course correspond to lectures in the MSWC curriculum • MSWC Lectures 7-10

Social Work Research Data • In this SPSS and quantitative analysis short course, examples of statistical tests, results, and hypothesis testing use data similar to an actual study • Study of child protection in several local authorities in southern England, UK • The SPSS data set and syntax for the analyses are included with this short course
