Sir Rector of the University of GRANADA , Pr Francisco Gonzalez LodeiroMiss vice-Rector Pr Dorothy Kelly , Sir the coordinator of the project , Pr Artur SchmittLadies, Sirs members of the consortium,Dear colleagues,It is an honor for me to participate in this first meeting of the consortium as vice-Rector, representing the university of Monastir in Tunisia.This meeting, as you know, comes to strengthen a collaboration in network “North – South” begun for some years in diverse domains.I would thus want, to greet the availability and the will which the persons in charge of the university of Granada showed throughout the preparation of this project and to set up this network.

It is the place to greet all the availability of Pr Dorothy Kelly , Pr Artur Schmitt and their staffs who knew how to mobilize relentlessly to finalize this project.It is advisable to congratulate the welcoming committee on the professionalism with which this meeting was led. I hope that this network will bring a support for the member universities in their reflection about the possible measures to reach the objectives of this project.

  4. This project shows itself original by its geographical cover as far as it covers 20 universities belonging to both banks of the Mediterranean. It enriches our knowledge of the processes of governance of the higher education and inaugurates a space opened by exchange of our experience. We hope to establish with this network a long-lasting and fruitful collaboration. Ladies, sirs, allow I to appear our university/

  5. UNIVERSITY OF MONASTIR The University of Monastir (UM) is a public higher education institute. It was founded in 2004 (Decree n°2102 of year 2004, dated September 2nd, 2004 .Their main activities are related to higher education, learning and research in a very broad sense. UM comprises 11 institutes and 5 faculties. With around 27500 students, 2044 lecturers 758 administrative and support staff, the UM offers a wide range of courses at under graduate and post graduate level. The average number of the graduates of our university is approximately 4700.

UNIVERSITY OF MONASTIR • The University ofMonastir covers, with the establishments which belong to her two governorates, the governorate ofMahdia with 5 Institutions and the governorate of Monastir with 11 Institutions. • These two coastal regions are integrated well into their environment Euro-Mediterranean. • They are characterized by a very varied economy among which the tourism, the industry and the agriculture constitute the main pillars of this economy
