  1. When designing a control room, it is vital to consider the design and ergonomics of the space. Ergonomics refers to how humans interact with their environment and how physical objects like furniture and fixtures affect their comfort. If you work in control rooms or other high-stress environments, it is expected to experience pain and discomfort from sitting in an improper chair or working on a desk that does not provide adequate support. Sit-Stand Console You need to incorporate a sit-stand console into your operating room since the operators don't have the freedom to take a walk while on breaks. That will help them conveniently adjust the console's heights to their preferred state, hence flexible.

  2. Pros of the Stand Console You can have employers of any height in your company due to the flexible adjustment height of the console. They perform two functions (sit and stand hence economical You can have employees of different sizes since its height is adjustable Employees can stretch their back, thus eliminates back pain Have the Right Posture While working as an operator, you need to have a good posture to prevent muscle strain and correctly align the muscles. A good posture is significant in ensuring you remain healthy and fit to work. You should consider the following when working at your console; Your wrist is relaxed and neutral. The screen angle is between 20degrees and 30 degrees from your face Avoid twisting your bodies in an awkward manner Your monitor is tilted upwards slightly

  3. Ergonomic Control Room Chair Different operators have different chair preferences. You may want a chair that's stiff to support your back, whereas another person needs a soft chair so that they can sink in while relaxing. The control room should have metal control room furniture that you can easily adjust to fit any situation. Comfortable Temperature The temperature of your console is very significant. However, it becomes a challenge when everyone has different temperature preferences. Some people are comfortable in hot while others are in cold temperatures; hence difficult to come up with a standard temperature for all. To solve this, ensure the console has individual cooling and heating controls. Additionally, you can reduce the noise by putting the electronics in a different equipment room. Task Lighting Levels Each operator has a different light level they are comfortable working in. High lighting may result in headaches or painful glare. In contrast, low lighting may cause you to strain, thus resulting in some health complications. You need to ensure the lighting of each operator's task is about 600 lux while that of the control room is 300-750lux. These lux levels cast light onto the console work surface and prevent incurring glare on the monitors. The area where ergonomic considerations are crucial is in the control room. The design should consider operator fatigue, eye strain, and other problems arising from long hours working on a computer screen or over an engineering workstation. By considering these factors at the outset, you will be able to create a space that looks not only good but also promotes general well-being for your staff while they do their jobs.
