BACKGROUND As a Cadet, you may parade 2 - 4 hours per week plus weekends and Camps for three years or more This equals the time spent studying for a number of GCSEs/Standard Grades During your training you will qualify for various Proficiencies and Advancement This is not understood by the outside world in terms of its value or your achievement.

    40. Unit 1 - The Public Services The Integrated Vocational Assignment (IVA) is a series of small tasks which cadets complete (once) by February each year. It is set by EDEXCEL and marked by CVQO. It is then remarked by Edexcel Contingents will have to organise time to brief and start the cadets on the project. A Resource Book is produced by CVQO as reference.

IVA Content This unit is set out as a series of four tasks in which cadets must research the Armed Public Services and provide information on the following: Task Their primary role and examples of tasks they perform Specific jobs and the conditions of service Entry requirements and stages of the selection process Initial training and long term career planning

Demonstration of Boat Handling Skills 4. Understanding of the Maritime Public Emergency Services and how they can be called upon when a vessel is in distress
