When they finally have enough cash in hand, they rush to making their dream a reality without thinking ahead. There are many factors that need to be considered before one begins to invest their hard-earned money into building their dream home. The main factor is choosing the right building materials for construction such as the cement, bricks and high-quality TMT bars. Arguably the most important construction material that needs careful selection is TMT bars. The TMT bars under consideration should meet certain standards so as to be flexible, good quality & long- lasting TMT bars. Here are some interesting facts about TMT bar manufacturers. Billets Thermo-Mechanically Treated bars or TMT bars for short are used to give shape and structure to a building. The best analogy would be to liken the TMT bar to animal’s bones. They define the strength and rigidity of a building. Steel Scraps are first heated to high temperatures and then poured into casting machines. These casting machines produce billets which are rectangular in shape. These are intermediate products before they are further processed to get the Super strong TMT bars. Cutting the Billets The billets produced are then cut using high powered machines to the required length. Cutting is usually done once the billets are properly conditioned. The steel billets are then heated to high temperatures to prepare them for the rolling process. Rolling: The steel billets need to be rolled into shape before further processing. Rolling is done by heating the billets above their recrystallization temperature so that they can be easily rolled by the rolling mill. Recrystallization temperature is the temperature above which the strength and hardness gets reduced and ductility increases significantly. The steel billets produced can be rolled into steel bars of varying diameter. Once the rolling process is complete, the bars are subject to undergo two different processes. 1.Quenching 2.Tempering 3.Cooling Quenching:

  2. Quenching is done immediately once the hot rolled bar leaves the rolling machine. Cooling agent, mostly water is sprayed on the rolled bar. It causes the surface to shrink and therefore harden. The core remains hot and soft. Tempering: Self-Tempering is a process, as the name implies performed by the best steel bar itself. The hot and soft core supplies the heat to the external surface and alters the crystalline structure of the steel. It transforms the outer surface to martensitic structure. The inner core is still an austenitic structure. Cooling the Core: The Core is subject to a slow cooling process. Eventually, all the heat from the core dissipates which is hastened by the use of special cooling beds. The rods are passed through these cooling beds to transform the core. The core structure transforms from austenitic structure to ferrite-pearlite structure. This ferrite-pearlite structure is very ductile and is responsible for the flexibility of the TMT rod. The finished products are good quality & long-lasting TMT bars. Bending, Tagging and Packaging: The steel bars are bent to shape, tagged and then packaged for storage. There is specialized equipment for storing the processed best TMT bars to ensure they remain High quality Super Strong TMT bars. Proper storage is a must to protect the steel bars from damage. Also, proper handling is needed to prevent damage in transit. Different Grades of TMT bars: The steel grade is a measure of the strength of the bar or more technically speaking the yield strength of reinforcement. There are many grades of TMT bars present in the current market. It is very necessary to choose the right grade at the time of construction. During the design phase of the construction, the designer selects the appropriate Grade of TMT bar based on the material and cost availability. Some of the Grades included Fe-415, Fe-500, Fe-550 and Fe-600. The widely used grades are Fe-415 and Fe-500 which can meet the strength requirements of most construction. Therefore, choosing the right TMT bar is necessary to ensure strong and long-lasting homes from TMT bar dealers & suppliers.
