  3. Levels of Play • Pro League Intense competition…..winners declared “School Champion” • Rookie League Competitive…..70% of all teams • Co-Rec Equal number of men/women on same team www.coastal.edu/im

  4. Regular Season • First day of play is Sunday, September 12 • Final schedules will be posted online at www.coastal.edu/im and @ Campus Recreation Center on the Intramural Bulletin Board on Saturday. • Registration deadline is Wednesday, September 8 @ 10pm. www.coastal.edu/im

  5. Playoffs • Teams will make the playoffs if the cumulative sportsmanship rating is above a 2.80 • Seeding will be done according to your rating score. What is your rating score? • Wins • Point differential • Opponent’s record • Sportsmanship www.coastal.edu/im

  6. Sportsmanship Rating • Determined by the supervisors and officials of the game • Scale is 0.0 – 4.0 • Average must be 2.80to be considered for playoffs • Any one game’s rating of less than 1.0 in a game removes teams from all tie- breaking considerations • Playoff rating is separate: Less than 2.80= probation Less than 1.5 = forfeit loss • Forfeits and Defaults do not count toward the average • 2 grades of ‘0.0’ in same sport season will result in removal from playoff consideration www.coastal.edu/im

  7. Eligibility • CCU ID Card required for all games • No varsity athletes on a roster at the time of play are allowed on an intramural team (in similar sports) • Former varsity athletes must be one season removed from varsity play • Must sign into at least one regular season game to be eligible to compete in the playoffs www.coastal.edu/im

  8. Rosters • Can be entered online prior to first game • Can add players until playoffs begin • May add online or on the courts/fields • Individual MUST be present with a valid CCU ID Card • All participants must be on the roster legally to be eligible for regular season AND playoffs • Roster limit is fixed; teams cannot remove a player to add another player. (Double the amount on field/court plus one “2x+1”) • Exception: Injured participants can be removed if a doctors note is presented to intramural office prior to play. www.coastal.edu/im

  9. Required Fees • $20 Team Fee is collected when registering a team and will not be returned after season • $10 Buy Back (after forfeit) www.coastal.edu/im

  10. One-Team Rule • An eligible player may only play for one team, per division, per sport. They may also play on a co-rec team within the same sport. GOOD: Pro League Flag and Co-Ed Flag BAD: Pro League Flag and Rookie League Flag • Second team the player signs up on will forfeit all games played by person playing on two teams. • Women can play in men’s OR women’s league, plus a Co-Rec league www.coastal.edu/im

  11. Defaults & Forfeits • A Default (D) is calling the IM Sports Office (x6680) by noon game day to inform us your team will not be able to compete that day. Sunday games must be called by Friday at noon • A Forfeit (F) is defined as not having enough members signed in to start the game • Forfeit Time / Grace Period • 2 Forfeits = removal from league play • Sportsmanship-related forfeits count toward 2 forfeits www.coastal.edu/im

Ejections • All ejected players must leave the playing area (sight & sound) immediately or a forfeit will be ruled • Ejected party must call the IM Office to arrange a re-instatement meeting…no walk-in meetings allowed • Meetings must occur prior to the player’s next game in any sport • Ejected players are deemed ineligible for all sports until a meeting is set www.coastal.edu/im

  14. Field Policy • The following are prohibited within the confines of the Recreation Field Complexes: * Alcoholic beverages * Golfing * All tobacco products * Glass * Metal Cleats * Drugs * Dogs * Scooters/Mopeds www.coastal.edu/im

  15. Captain’s Responsibilities • Sign up team(s) • Understand and enforce eligibility rules • Keep in contact with Intramural Office and website • Notify team members of rules and schedules (including changes) • Represent team at all meetings if applicable • Check the accuracy of the standings and/or scores • Maintain high standards of sportsmanship • Keep informed of the rules of conduct • Ensure team attends all scheduled games www.coastal.edu/im

  16. Flag Football Rules • No disrespecting your opponents, the officials • 7 person teams (15); Touchdown = 6; Try: 1, 2, 3 • Illegally secured flagbelt, tackling = auto DQ • 20 min halves, runs until 2 min; 2ndhalf • Penalty explanation and captain’s role www.coastal.edu/im

  17. Flag Football Rules • Equipment (clothes, shoes, flag belts) • Flag Football is NOT a contact sport • No kickoffs, no fumbles • Timeouts, play clock • Snapping & Line of Scrimmage • Motion & Shifting • Screen blocking techniques www.coastal.edu/im

  18. Indoor Volleyball • IMs will provide someone to make net calls and keep score/supervise • Teams will use honor system • Rally scoring, best of 3 sets • 1st two sets to 25 win by 2 • 3rd set (if needed)=first team to 15 www.coastal.edu/im

  19. Soccer • Each team consists of 7 players • 15 players may be on the roster • 5players can start the game at game time • If playing with fewer than 5 players each missing player will be recorded as an out when their turn comes up in batting order. • No off-sides • Slide-tackling an opponent is illegal • 20 min halves, referee keeps time • Equipment • 80-yd field, regulation size goals www.coastal.edu/im

  20. 3v3 Hoops • One IM staff member to score/time keep and officials • 3 players, must have 2 to begin, 7 max roster • Played in Small Gym in rec center • 14 minute halves, no stop clock unless injury www.coastal.edu/im
