January 23-25 GuardFIST Training for Platoons - Call for Fire and EIB Standards

The GuardFIST training on January 23-25 will focus on enhancing the skills of each platoon’s Forward Observer (FO) and Fire Support Team Operator (FORTO) in calling for fire and conducting reconnaissance. Each session will include prior instruction and a refresher on fire calls, with a brief tutorial on observation techniques. Soldiers must be prepared to use various formats for calling fire. Reconnaissance will be executed on January 16, leading up to the evaluations, ensuring all soldiers can meet EIB standards during the call-for-fire training.

  1. 23 JAN (0930-1630) 1st Plt (0930-1300) 2nd Plt (1300-1630) 24 JAN (0930-1630) 2nd Plt (overflow, if needed) (0930-1200) 3rd Plt (1200-1530) HQ (1530-1630) 23-24 Jan GuardFIST • Each platoon’s FO and FORTO will conduct their platoon’s training. SGT Aikey, LT Ip will supervise. • Each session will consist of prior instruction / refresher on how to call for fire. • A quick tutorial will be given on how to observe in GuardFIST • Soldier will be responsible for calling for fire using any format (shift, grid, polar) • Recon to be conducted 16 Jan
