  1. MEASURES OF CENTRAL TENDENCY(MEAN, MEDIAN, MODE)

  2. MEAN, MEDIAN, AND MODE RAP! • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jVZi0cNHls Can you think of some real life examples that would involve a measure of central tendency?

  3. MEAN = THE AVERAGE(Add all the numbers in a set of data and then divide the total by the total number of data sets, or numbers added). • THE AVEARGE TEACHER IS MEAN MEAN EQUALS THE AVERAGE. This is the most commonly used measure of central tendency. • CALCULATE THE MEAN: • 3, 12, 34, 5, 7.5, 11

  4. MODE: The number the occurs the MOST. MODE equals MOST! • CALCULATE THE MODE: • 12, 23, 12, 85, 34, 11, 42, 10, 23, 34, 67, 85, 22, 11, 34, 12, 78, 102, 24

  5. MEDIAN: The middle number is a set of data, after the data has been aligned from least to greatest. (If there are two middle numbers, add them together and divide them by 2). • Calculate the MEDIAN: • 45, 24, 56, 76, 23, 12, 34, 2, 54, 23, 21, 64, 34, 12.5, 23 • CALCULATE THE MEDIAN: • 44, 23, 34, 12, 11, 64, 23, 12, 34, 54, 23, 54

  6. Range: • A set of Data’s start and end points. Range involves the length of a set of data. • Find range: • 12, 2, 45, 132, 32, 76, 1,345, 45, 23, 98
