  2. Shutdown 2012 - 2013 Machine Status: • NTF Treatments and Dosimetry as scheduled • Proton Source Commissioning and Studies • RFQ Injector Line (RIL) • Linac • Booster TeV & Muon Rings – Partially available for tours with approval and appropriate training

MSS Bypass Project – Impact Areas • A0 Parking Lot Work • May 28th – June 14th • May 28th start cutting parking lot • Install new pad and switches • TeV road closure at A1 (Monday – Wednesday) • Power off to A1, A2, & A3 on Monday (0700-1600) • Close pedestrian walkway at some point • Feeders 40, 42, and 43 Issues Revealed • CDF & Industrial Building • Saturday, June 15th– Weekend outage from 0700-1530 • Reconnect a “y” splice

MSS Bypass Project – Impact Areas • MS3 Service Building • Replace Oil Switch with Air Switch at MS3 • Run on generator ~1 week • Need to calculate loads for generator • Need to propose a start date (Probably Cancelled) • Would prevent Meson Operations, finish by July 1st. • CHL • ~7 day outage/reduction (only house power available) • Not expected until (June 25th – July 2nd) • Cable pulls and splices in PMH 210 • Meson • To be proposed – Two 15 minute outages one week apart • Not expected until (June 17th & June 24th) • Cable pulls and splices in PMH 110 • Impacts MCC, Holometer, MW9, all enclosures, systems, and buildings

Kautz Road SubStation Outage • Friday, May 17th @ 1420 • Power outage at KRS • Power glitch on remainder of site • Transformer T87, B-phase imbalance • 14kA draw on ComEd line lead to trip and lockout (Needs to be inspected to be brought back online) • MI backfed from Master SubStation • Using Feeder 45 for MI conventional power which is normally T85 on KRS • Investigation pointed to a problem in yard

Kautz Road SubStation Outage – Cont. • Status & Plan • Finished inspections (Found T85 arrestor problems) • ComEd sold us a larger size surge arrestor • Installed arrestor on T87 at KRS (Needed a crane) • Retested T87 • Re-energize KRS • We need a 20 minute conventional power outage in Main Injector and Muon Rings to move power from MSS to KRS (This did not happen because we are still on backfeed for conventional power due to T85) • We ordered 6 new surge arrestors (4.7k each) from Hubbell and wait for delivery in 8-10 week • Schedule a ~1-2 day KRS outage to replace all surge arrestors on transformers T85 & T87

  8. Kautz Road SubStation Outage – Cont. • Startup Status • We can run pulsed power in MI for power supply tests • We think we can run beam in this configuration – experts confirming • After today, we can run NuMI power supply tests
