Fun Run (Friday, August 30th) (Please sign-up to volunteer) • Parent -Teacher Conferences (Oct. 9th and 10th) Important Dates • ISTEP+ Testing • Applied Skills - March 3rd- March 12th • Multiple choice - April 28th – May 9th • IREAD March 17th – March 19th • Acuity Predictive Testing (3 times a year – Sept., Nov., Feb.) • Spring Music Program (March 13th - grades 1 and 3 – Grade3 7:30pm ) • Fall Pictures – September 11th Important Dates and Information

  3. Reminder of times: 8:30 Students allowed in the school 8:45 Tardy bell 3:40 Dismissal bell **Wednesday dismissal is 3:10** All change of Transportation needs to be completed before 3:00 PM (please send in a note for changes, not email) Eagle Elementary Information

New Policies: • When a parent comes to have lunch, students are allowed to ask only 1 friend to join. • ALL those who wish to have lunch or volunteer for school fuctions must have a valid background check on file. • Only students are allowed to attend recess. No siblings or parents. **2 color lanyards – yellow (classroom volunteer/workroom) red (lunch) • Classroom Parties: • October 11th– Fall Party • December 20th– Winter Party • Field Trips: Grades K, 2, and 4 (shortfall of transportation fund) • We will have a fishing day in May if you would like to help out!!!! Elementary Student Handbook (online) • School Wide Discipline Plan - Sporting Good Behavior (Assignment books need to be signed every school day – refer to A. notebooks for strikes, fouls, and outs) • Learning Labs • During Social Studies (Reading) and Science (Math) • Students will still receive content instruction during regular reading times, but will not receive a grade if missing ½ of a quarter.   8. Typical Weekly Schedule Math homework: HL will be assigned almost everyday, due the next day. Redo Work Policy: Can redo any assignment that is a C or below; ½ point credit given for each question missed.

  9. Students will read several stories throughout the week. • Whole Group, Small Group, Buddy, and Individually • Students will read the ‘main’ selection story at home with an adult. This story incorporates the weekly skill. • Weekly test will test the skills over the week, not the weekly story. • Right now, paper/pencil, but soon to be computer based on Friday. • Class work will be graded to see mastery of skills • Homework will be assigned to practice these skills (worksheets) • READING bookmark/slip: Will be sent home every Monday and needs to be signed by Thursday • There are activities to be completed each week at home. • Technology component Reading Street

ISTEP • Applied Skills • Paper and pencil, written answers • Given in mornings • Multiple Choice • Computerized • Practice given on reading passages online with reading series and Acuity • IREAD • Pencil and paper • Must pass IREAD to pass 3rd grade • If student does not pass, will attend summer school and retake test on computer ISTEP/IREAD Information
