  2. OBJETIVO • Presentar las manifestaciones radiológicas más habituales en la enterocolitis necrotizante del recién nacido

  3. MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS • Revisamos 35 casos recogidos en nuestro archivo de pacientes con esta entidad. • A todos ellos se les realizaron estudios de radiología convencional que incluyeron placa simple de abdomen y proyecciones adicionales ( decúbito lateral con rayo horizontal) para descartar neumoperitoneo. • En algunos casos con complicaciones clínicas se realizaron estudios baritados ( enema opaco).

  4. COMENTARIOS • La enterocolitis necrotizante es una inflamación intestinal idiopática, grave, que generalmente afecta de forma parcheada a ileon distal y colon. • Suele ocurrir en prematuros y de bajo peso para la edad gestacional en las unidades de neonatología

  5. COMENTARIOS • Clínicamente cursa con distensión abdominal, intolerancia alimenticia, vómitos, sangre en heces y diarrea • Si es grave, puede existir perforación, peritonitis, sepsis y shock

  6. COMENTARIOS • Los signos radiológicos más habituales en la radiología convencional son: • Distensión intestinal generalizada, con acúmulo de asas, con patrón de íleo paralítico • Gas en pared intestinal: Neumatosis Quistoide • Gas en Vena Porta • Engrosamiento de asas • Asa dilatada de forma persistente • Ascitis • Neumoperitoneo • En el enema opaco: Áreas de estrechamiento o estenosis inflamatoria ( generalmente en colon izquierdo)

  21. CASO 1 Paciente con marcada dilatación de asas y edema de pared con neumoperitoneo

  23. CASO 3 Paciente con dilatación de asas , edema de pared, neumatosis quistoide y estenosis post NEC

  24. CASO 4 Paciente con dilatacíón de asas, edema de pared, neumatosis en colon ascendente y neumoperitoneo ( aire subhepático)

  25. CASO 5 Paciente con neumoperitoneo de debut (signo del “balón de rugby”) en el contexto clínico de enterocolitis
