Cost • For this particular career the cost factor will depend upon if you choose to attend a private flight attendant school, if you do then there is a cost. • If you apply to a major airline and you are accepted into their flight attendant program the cost is to the airline. • Most flight attendant programs I found were listed on the internet and the cost factor was not listed, which would make me very suspect about looking at a school via the internet. I would apply directly to a major airline
Typical course work • The course work that I found via the internet was the following • Airport codes • Airline terminology • First Aid/CPR • Airline call letters • Airline diagrams • Ticket checking • Most programs are from 4 to 7 weeks in length • Source: The Travel Academy April 2009

Employment • Full time: I’m not sure if I will be able to work full time while at school, this would depend on how many hours my program would require. • Part time: I more than likely will need to work part time to earn money. • I will need to make a minimum of at least $800.00 per month. Which means I will more than likely have to secure a student loan, or some type of financial aid from the government to attend school. • I will have to earn $8.25 per hour • I will have to work 30 hours per week.
