INTRODUCCIÓN: • La Enfermedad de Paget ósea (EPO) es un trastorno focal del metabolismo del hueso caracterizado por un remodelado óseo acelerado afectando a la integridad del mismo, con escasa expresión clínica, por lo que el diagnóstico suele ser un hallazgo incidental en estudios radiológicos y analíticos.

  3. OBJETIVO: • Describir las características clínicas, analíticas y epidemiológicas de los pacientes diagnosticados de EPO en el Área Sanitaria de Ferrol. • Hemos revisado las historias clínicas de 70 pacientes diagnosticados de EPO, confirmados radiológicamente, en una consulta de Reumatología. Se recogieron datos sobre: sexo, edad, motivo de consulta, valores de la fosfatasa alcalina, localización, tratamiento inicial y complicaciones de la enfermedad. MÉTODO:

  4. RESULTADOS: ♀ 42,86% ♂ 57,14% Edad media: 77 años

  5. RESULTADOS: FAL normal: 31,14 % Tratamiento con bifosfonatos: 68,58%

  6. CONCLUSIONES: • En la mayoría de los pacientes el diagnóstico de la EPO fue un hallazgo radiológico casual. • La afectación poliostótica fue mayoritaria y la elevación de la FA estaba presente en la mayor parte de los pacientes. • La localización más frecuente fue la ilíaca, seguida de la axial. • El tratamiento se realizó con bifosfonatos en la mayoría de los casos y el número de complicaciones fue escaso.
