  4. HONOR SOCIETY Membership based on an average of 90%, calculated at the end of five semesters Application requirement showing Leadership, Service, and Character

  5. HONOR ROLL Based on a minimum of 5 credits plus P.E. “A” Honor roll = 90% - 100% “B” Honor roll = 85% - 89.9%

  6. DIPLOMA COURSE REQUIREMENTS English and Social Studies 4 credits each Math and Science 3 credits each Fine Art 1 credit Foreign Language 1 credit Health ½ credit Physical Education ½ credit per yr. (all 4 yrs.) + 3.5 elective credits TOTAL OF 22 CREDITS

  11. 9TH GRADE MATH Teacher recommendations and performance on the NYS 8th grade math assessment may change placements as well

  12. 9TH GRADE SCIENCE

  13. 9TH GRADE SCIENCE For Accelerated Students: Living Environment in 8th grade to Earth Science in 9th grade

  14. 9TH GRADE SCIENCE Students will take either Earth Science or Living Environment

  15. FOREIGN LANGUAGE

  16. FOREIGN LANGUAGE 8th grade language: Pass course & local exam= 1.0 credit to Level 2

  18. REGENTS DIPLOMA EXAM REQUIREMENTS Integrated Algebra Science Global History US History Comprehensive English (Student must score at least 65% on all five Regents Exams.)

  19. LOCAL DIPLOMA EXAM REQUIREMENTS (for students with IEPs only) Algebra Science Global History US History Comprehensive English (Student must score at least 55% on all five Regents Exams)

SCHEDULING PROCESS The High School Counselors will review graduation requirements with 8th grade students Mrs. Vanwormer & Mrs. Foan will meet with each student for course selection Students will take home course selection sheet for parent approval Approved course selection sheet must be signed & returned

  25. FRESHMAN ORIENTATION Held approximately one week before school opens for freshman & new students Date & times will be mailed home prior Day or evening session available After presentation, students and parents can tour the building

  26. FRESHMAN FIRST DAY Only Freshman will attend the first day of school Students will receive their schedules, tour the building and open locker Students will learn about student clubs and activities
