Energy use in society is a flow that begins with a source: • SUN • COAL • URANIUM • PETROLEUM Sources Of Energy:
ENERGY plays a unique and critical role in the world; no activity of any kind (no "work") can take place without the movement or conversion of energy. INTRODUCTION:
Energy passes through several intermediate processes for refinement or conversion to a different form (e.g. electricity, diesel oil, methane), finally reaching a home, vehicle or industrial plant, where it is introduced into a consuming device (e.g. furnace, motor). ENERGY PROCESS:
Scientists being to amass evidence that burning of fossil fuels is driving potentially catastrophic global climate change
The use of energy has been a key in the development of the human society by helping it to control and adapt to the environment • In the industrialized world the development of energy resources has become essential for agriculture, transportation, waste collection, information technology and communication that have become prerequisites of a developed society. Relation between energy and society:

Energy effects our society in following ways. • Environment • Economy • Transportation • Homes • Communication & Information Technology EFFECTS:
Most environmental advocates contend that energy systems that utilize water, solar or wind to produce power create no carbon dioxide emissions once they are constructed and therefore do not contribute to climate change.
Nuclear and oil industries produce hazardous by products and waste which severely damage or destroy environment.
The one major reason of green house effect is the presence of harmful gases in the air like carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane and water vapors • Over the period of 10 years the amount of carbon dioxide is increasing at the rate of 30% every year The Reason of Greenhouse Effect:
Perceived as the major environmental issue of our time • What is happening… • Evidence includes continued ice-loss from glaciers • Changes in (other) ecosystems Climate change:
Consequences for environment, but also for economy, human lives • Dimensions: environmental, economic, health & safety, food production, security, …
Energy Bills • Oil prices • Transportation of goods Economical Effects:
Every month we pay our energy bills. We have a budget for the use of electricity, oil,and natural gas in our homes and for the gasoline used in our automobiles. Energy Bills:
Modern society cannot exist without the production and utilization of energy. As long as we continue to use fuels, there will necessarily be undesirable side effects. Oil Prices:
3. EFFECTS OF COMMUNICATION & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:
Energy and Communications is responsible for issues concerning regional development, energy, transport, infrastructure, information technology and the business sector. COMMUNICATION & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:
Without society then there would be no science and technology and that is why the invention of certain tools and equipment have helped achieve big things
It is said that approximately 80% of our fossil fuels are used directly in transportation and industry. • Currently, the roads of the world goes one billion cars - trucks and cars, and fuel consumption for transport is growing rapidly, even in Europe etc. EFFECTS OF TRANSPORTATION:
A building comprises several thermodynamic domains—air movement, radiation exchange, moisture flow, electrical power flow, daylight distribution which may interact with the others in a non-trivial manner. • Adjusting the position of a window shading device will have cascading effects on glare, internal daylight level, artificial lighting requirement, luminaries’ heat gain and space cooling, heating and electricity demand. Clearly, the construction industry has some way to go if it wishes to incorporate a rigorous life cyclic analysis into its future design practice
