The Illinois Automated Victim Notification System (AVN) is a comprehensive initiative serving over 7.5 million residents across 101 counties. It interfaces with 101 courts, 91 county jails, and 28 Department of Corrections (DOC) facilities, managing approximately 57,000 incarcerated inmates and 203,000 open cases. With significant daily notifications and a robust advisory committee, the AVN aims to keep victims informed and engaged in the justice process. Participation is mandatory for state entities, while county involvement is voluntary, fostering collaboration and growth in public safety.
