  3. Salary!!! Marine Biologists make about $50,000 per year with a masters degree. Click Here to see Charts.

  4. More Experience, Bigger Salary!! Years Of Experience

  5. Educational Requirements • Required Classes would be chemistry, biology, zoology, physics, and mathematics. • Primarily a Masters of Science (MS) and PhD degree are required but many schools are now offering Bachelors of Science (BS) in Marine Biology as well.

  6. Math Topics Used • Calculus • Statistics • Geometry • Trigonometry • Algebra • Physics

  7. Working Conditions!!! • Marine biologists work in offices and laboratories. They also work on boats, at sea, or in isolated coastal areas in all weather conditions. • Marine biologists travel to field study sites, and may travel around the country or overseas to attend conferences or training.

  8. Responsibilities • Responsibilities of a marine biologist vary depending on the specific field of study but some responsibilities may include: • Management of marine farms • Researching the ocean environment and its inhabitants and keeping an updated report. • Monitoring the health and well-being of marine life

  9. Equipment Used • computers and specialized computer programs • laboratory equipment including electronic microscopes • photographic equipment • diving equipment • boats.

  10. Location! Location! Location! To work in the marine biology field, you would have to live on a coast or near the ocean. The specific ocean would depend on what exactly you want to study and what kind of environment you are interested in.
