  3. ANATOMY of an ANGEL The word “angel” is a Greek translation of a Hebrew word that literally means “messenger” God created angels as angels. They have never been anything else. People do not become angels when they die. We do not know how many angels there are, but the Bible refers to them as innumerable and “myriads” of angels.

  5. ANATOMY of an ANGEL God created angels as spirit beings. Because they are spirits, they are unseen by human eyes. They are invisible and immortal. They never get sick or die. Angels are supernatural spirits created by God to carry out His plan. They are bodiless but can take the form of any living creature. Angels are without gender, they are neither male nor female even though they are often depicted as male or female.

  7. ANATOMY of an ANGEL An angel takes on a form that can be seen temporarily if this will help an angel do his assigned task on earth. In the Bible angels are highly diverse in appearance: bright light, fire, having wings, or like ordinary people. The first words of an angel are usually “fear not” or “do not be afraid.”

  9. ANATOMY of an ANGEL Angels have great strength and are extremely powerful. However, they are not all powerful as only God is omnipotent. Angels have great knowledge and wisdom. They know more than humans but do not know everything. Only God is omniscient. Angels have emotions since they rejoice, sing for joy, and express awe and reverence in worshipping God.

  11. ANATOMY of an ANGEL The main purpose of angels is to bring honor and glory to God Angels have always served as messengers between God and mankind. They communicate important announcements to the world. Angels serve as soldiers in the war between good and evil. The good angels are in constant battle with the bad angels.

  13. ANATOMY of an ANGEL Angels minister to God’s people by taking care of them, protecting them, delivering them from danger, strengthening and encouraging them, and answering our prayers to God. Angels carry the souls of the dead to heaven. Angels are for real. They have appeared in every civilization since the beginning of recorded time. They are mentioned in the Bible almost 300 times.

  15. ANATOMY of an ANGEL Angels are always present. Everyone has a guardian angel. Angels intercede between God and mankind and have the capacity to intervene between points of time and place and cause a change in the course of history. There are good angels and bad angels. Michael the archangel defeated Lucifer the bad angel and threw him out of heaven to eternal damnation.

  17. ANATOMY of an ANGEL Tradition teaches there are nine choirs of angels, three levels made up of three orders within each hierarchy. Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones. Dominions, Virtues, Powers. Principalities, Archangels, Angels. Christian tradition teaches that a guardian angel is assigned to every human being at birth. They guide us but do not interfere with human free will. They do not force us to follow the right course of action, only point it out.

  19. ANATOMY of an ANGEL Angels convey their messages by intuition, telepathy, dreams, and inner voices. They may use another person to send messages. Guardian angels can take the form of a human being but often appear as radiant beings dressed in white or color with widespread wings. Most religions acknowledge the existence of angels or some type of spiritual “winged” creature. Buddhism, Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Mormonism, and Protestant Christianity.

  21. What are angels… They are for real They offer us hope They are messengers from God They give us direction They guide, protect, and defend us They can cure, mend, and heal us They intervene in our lives They offer us peace and security They lead us to heaven And they help
