Preposition Practice and Plot Diagram Assignments for October 8, 2012

On Monday, October 8, 2012, students will focus on preposition practice, checking the agenda, and discussing plot elements. We will complete Preposition Practice Pg. 62 as a class. Students will read “The Circuit” independently from their blue books (pg. 552), followed by a plot diagram and summary. Honors students will finish group stories, submit their diagrams, and read “The All-American Slurp.” All students must complete their assignments independently and with no talking. Unfinished work will become homework.

  1. Monday, October 8, 2012 • Write in your agenda: • Preposition Practice • Agenda Check • Fiction/Plot • Homework: Read for AR

  2. Preposition Practice • We will be completing Preposition Practice Pg. 62 together as a class.

  3. Plot • Go over Friday’s assignment as a class! • Students will read “ The Circuit” independently on their own. You will find the story in your blue book on page 552. • After reading the story you will complete a plot diagram and write a summary on the back. • If time read Dog of Pompei and complete plot diagram/summary.

  4. Honors: Plot • Finish Group stories and turn in plot diagrams/summaries. • Complete “ The All American Slurp” independently on their own. Do not do Stone Soup!!! • After reading the story you will complete a plot diagram and write a summary on the back. • When you are done turn it in and read for AR. • If you don’t finish this is homework!! • There is no talking!!!! • If time go over All American Slurp.
