IMRD Case Study 2014: "Ex post evaluation of Leader Approach Delivery"Local Action Groups LAG Dolný Žitný ostrov (Lower Rye Island) Strategic objective of this LAG is to improve the quality of live in its territory by developing local economy, improving public facilities and strengthening family background. Strategic priorities are: (1) Rural tourism, (2) Public facilities, (3) Rural moral values, (4) Employment of mothers with children Location: LAG is located on the plain Podunajskánížina in the southern part of Nitra SGR in districts Komárno and Nové Zámky. It has one of the most fertile soils in Slovakia. Character of its area is strongly agricultural. In the south of the region flows the river Danube (border with Hungary). Region has possibilities to cooperate with Hungarian action groups within cross-border cooperation. Municipalities (18): Bodza, Bodzianske Lúky, Brestovec, Čalovec, Číčov, Dedina Mládeže, Holiare, Kameničná, Klížska Nemá, Kolárovo, Okoličná na Ostrove, Sokolce, Tôň, Trávnik, Veľké Kosihy, Zlatná na Ostrove, Komoča, Zemné Some activities managed / supported by LAG: Development and installationof information panels in municipalities Building green rest areas Treatment of public spaces Reconstruction and modernisation of infrastructure Support of the promotion of the LAG´s activities Implementation of the project „Regional Brands of Quality“ (within Visegrad Fund)

IMRD Case Study 2014: "Ex post evaluation of Leader Approach Delivery"Local Action Groups LAG Tribečsko (Tribeč region) Strategic objective of this LAG is to raise the attractiveness of the Tribečmicroregion by developing tourism based on the maximum recovery of cultural and historical resources and ensuring economic stability of local residents. Strategic priorities are: (1) Tourism development, (2) Rural environment and landscape quality, (3) Developing advanced knowledge and skills Location: region is located mostly in the western part of not high Tribeč mountains in the north-east part of Nitra SGR. Traditional activities in this area are forestry, quarrying, agriculture, and in particular wine growing.Region has good conditions for cycling and hiking. We can find here also a number of historical sites (churches, rustic manor houses, castle ruins). In last years, transport connection of this region had significantly improved. Municipalities (19): Jedľové Kostoľany, Obyce, Machulince, Žitavany, Topoľčianky, Hostie, Skýcov, Žikava, Lovce, Hosťovce, Martin nad Žitavou, Sľažany, Velčice, Mankovce, Zlatno, Beladice, Neverice, Ladice, Kostoľany pod Tríbečom Some activities managed / supported by LAG: Buildingof collectionpoints for separated waste Installation of „Tribeč information panels“ Building of playgrounds for children Support of the „Tribeč Wine Festival“ Releasing of a tourist guide Reconstruction and modernisation of infrastructure (e.g. street lighting) Labeling ofregionalproducts – capacity building

IMRD Case Study 2014: "Ex post evaluation of Leader Approach Delivery"Local Action Groups LAG Levoča Strategic objectives of this LAG are to contribute to development of human resources by raising the level of education; implement efficient marketing tools; support traditional crafts, multifunctional agriculture and rural tourism by improving the level of services; create further perspectives for partnership and cooperation; help municipalities to make their rural environment more attractive. Strategic priorities are: (1) Fresh mind and a spirit of prosperity; (2) We shall remember our roots; (3) Let´s win in our region using collective games; (4) Let's stay in the countryside– it is so beautiful Location: Area under LAG is located in the basin Hornádskakotlina, in the eastern part of Slovakia and in Prešov SGR. Advantages of the region are historical and cultural heritage (UNESCO site, pilgrimage sites), rich natural potential, human resources for management of rural development, good interpersonal relationships, tourism infrastructure, high-quality environment and very nice sceneries. Municipalities (31): Baldovce, Beharovce, Bijacovce, Brutovce, Buglovce Dlhé Stráže, Doľany, Domaňovce, Dravce, Dúbrava, Granč – Petrovce, Harakovce, Jablonov, Klčov, Korytné, Kurimany, Levoča, Lúčka, Nemešany, Nižné Repaše, Oľšavica, Ordzovany, Pavľany, Poľanovce, Pongrácovce, Spišský Štvrtok, Studenec, Torysky, Uloža, Vyšné Repaše Some activities managed / supported by LAG: Building of shelters for tourists and bikers Building of playgrounds and free-time centres Reconstruction of pubic facilities Support of the promotion of the LAG´s activities

IMRD Case Study 2014: "Ex post evaluation of Leader Approach Delivery"Local Action Groups LAG Kras Strategic objective of this LAG is to raise the employment and purchasing power of people and to improve the attractiveness and competitiveness of region until 2015. Strategic priorities are: (1) Tourism development, (2) Use of local resources, (3) Quality of services Location: region is situated in very attractive area of National Park Slovenskýkras (Slovak Karst) which is (along with its Hungarian part) the part of the largest karst area in central Europe. It is a UNESCO site and also the part of „Man and Biosphere“ network. Region in the western part of Košice SGR has natural and cultural potential for developing rural tourism with high standard of services. There are also possibilities for cross-border cooperation with Hungary. Municipalities (19):Ardovo, Bohúňovo, Bretka, Čoltovo, Dlhá Ves, Gemerská Hôrka, Gemerská Panica, Hrhov, Hrušov, Jablonov nad Turňou, Kečovo, Kunova Teplica, Meliata, Pašková, Plešivec, Silica, Silická Brezová, Silická Jablonica, Slavec Some activities managed / supported by LAG: Reconstruction of „house of culture“ Building of community centre Building of tourist information centre Building of playground for children Building of multi-purpose playground
