  3. Geography – Patterns of Settlement • This is a picture of North America taken at night from space (see pp. 2-3). • The lit areas are areas that have people and have access to electricity. Brighter areas have more people, darker areas have less people. • Where do most people in the US live? Why do they live there? • Why are there no lights in some areas?
