This project explores the interdependent relationships among different species, focusing on three key interactions: mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism. Mutualism is exemplified by the relationship between clownfish and sea anemones, where both species gain benefits. Commensalism is illustrated by barnacles on whales, which benefit without affecting their hosts. Lastly, parasitism highlights interactions where one species benefits at the expense of another. This study provides insights into how these relationships shape ecosystems and species survival.

Symbiosis Project….. Shawleace and Quasha
Mutualism… • Both species benefits • Clownfish and sea anemones: Clownfish and sea anemones present an example of mutualism. The clownfish benefits by having a protected home territory.
Commensalism….. • 1 species benefits and the other 1 is not affected • Barnacles adhering to the skin of a whale or shell of a mollusk: The barnacle benefits by finding a habitat where nutrients are available. The presence of barnacle populations does not appear to hamper or enhance the survival of the animals carrying them.
Parasitism…. • 1 species benefit/the other is harmed.
