  1. LANDMARK WEST! invites you to attend a seminar on Green Building, Energy Efficiency and Historic Preservation April 25, 2007 NYS Real Estate License Continuing Education Credits for Real Estate Brokers Offered (M-7075) What: This day-long seminar will explore the links between historic preservation and “green” design.  Old buildings offer an incredibly rich and profound record of human experience in dealing with our environment. Today, “sustainability” and “energy efficiency” have become watchwords in the real-estate industry. But what do they mean when it comes to dealing with existing structures? Subtopics of this workshop will include: inherent “green” qualities of traditional materials and design (myths and realities), using modern technology to improve energy efficiency and building performance (without compromising historic integrity), applying LEED standards to existing buildings, and case studies highlighting issues of architectural appropriateness, durability, safety, comfort and affordability. Speakers: Francoise Bollack, AIA, principal, Francoise Bollack Architects, winner of The Green Building Competition for New York City, a joint US Environmental Protection Agency and NYC Dept. of Environmental Protection,Mosette Broderick, MA, NYU design professor andarchitectural historian, and Andrew Padian, building scientist at Steven Winter Associates, (an architectural and engineering firm specializing in assessing building performance). When: Wednesday, April 25, 2007 from 8:45 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Where: American Bible Society 1865 Broadway at 61st Street, New York, NY Register: Call (212) 496-1714 to charge your credit card or send a check for $75 to: LANDMARK WEST!, 45 West 67th Street, New York, NY  10023.
