Saturation effect of MPPC. Introduction. MPPC output signal saturates because of its limited number of pixels. <Npix> = Nmax(1-exp(-Nph/Nmax)) Nmax : Number of MPPC pixels Nph : Number of photons Npix : Number of hit pixels We take into account this effect in the calorimeter simulation.

  5. Assumptions • Nph(MIP)=5 or 10 • Nmax=400, 1600, and 6400 • Perfect MPPC is assumed: i.e. No cross-talk, no noise

  6. 1GeV electron Nph Nmax=400 Nmax=6400 Nmax=1600
