YEARS. There are two kinds of numbers in English. CARDINAL NUMBERS. ORDINAL NUMBERS. How to write years ?. The years in English are usually written with numbers but you have to learn how to write them in letters. We normally say a year in two parts: 1985 (nineteen eighty-five)

  4. How to write years? The years in English are usually written with numbers but you have to learn how to write them in letters. • We normally say a year in two parts: • 1985 (nineteen eighty-five) • 1056 (ten fifty-six) • In the case of years ending in “00”, we say the second part in “hundred” *1900 (nineteen hundred) *2000 (two thousand)

  5. How to write years? • There are two ways of saying years ending in “01” to “09” before 2000, we add and or oh • *1901 (nineteen oh nine) or • *1901 (nineteen hundred and one) • Post years such as 2010 could say also in two parts: • *2010 (twenty ten) or • *2010 (two thousand and ten)
