  1. Tips for Installing Security Surveillance Cameras Wantto make your residential or commercial property safe from theft, vandalism and anti-social elements? If yes, then you will need a high quality surveillance system with the best security cameras. Installation of security cameras is something that needs to be done right the first time. You can certainly add more cameras to the system or make small changes in monitoring and placement later but the system needs to be installed in the right manner if you want to avoid bad viewing angles. For installation of security surveillance cameras, there are basically three parts. The first thing that needs to be decided is where the cameras need to be mounted. It is recommended to mount them high enough so that no one can tamper with it or reach it easily from the ground level. If you are installing an indoor security camera, then it is best to place it at the corner of the room. For instance, a dome security camera with a 4mm or 3.6mm lens will get you a 92 or 85 degree view angle. This will allow you to cover most rooms with one camera. If you are installing an outdoor camera, then make sure it is weatherproof and also features infrared LED function for easy night time viewing. Second step in the installation process is powering. In order to make the security cameras work, there are two cables that need to be connected. First is the power cable and second is for video. But you don’t have to worry about this if you are mounting a security camera and you have a power outlet near the camera. Third important step in the installation process is of connecting the cameras to the output. You need to connect the cameras to where you will be viewing the video or where it will be recorded. BNC connectors will be required to connect the video. One will be required at the recording or viewing end and another at the security camera end. For viewing a single security surveillance camera, you can connect it to the VCR directly and then to the television; however, you will need a BNC to RCA adapter. A standalone DVR (Digital Video Recorder) will be required for multiple security cameras.

  2. In security surveillance, intelligent video management software also plays an important role. It is basically a digital video technology that is integrated with analytical software. Video analytics software can easily run on a networked device. Network devices can include a computer computing device, an IP camera or an embedded system. There are various applicants of an intelligent video management software. For instance, it tracks a moving target, searches for objects, identifies geographical location of someone or something, detects suspicious activities or even counts instances of something like, number of customers that have entered a shop and so on. In IP surveillance systems, the role of intelligent video management software is increasing. Its application also ranges to education and marketing.
