  2. The Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) is a multi-district, grassroots leadership development programme of member districts organised into regional divisions in various parts throughout the world. . What is RLI?

  3. To provide Rotarians at club level the tools they need to become effective Rotary leaders and by extension leaders in their communities. Purpose?

  4. The Rotary Leadership Institute is a grassroots, multi-district program whose mission is to strengthen Rotary Clubs through quality leadership education.

Founded in D7510 in Central New Jersey, USA in 1992 by then DG David Linett: current RLI chairman & Past RI Director • Became multi-district in 1994 & with three more New Jersey districts • In 1998 expanded to Zones 31 & 32 (North Eastern & Middle Atlantic, USA & parts of Canada) • Approaching 300 districts - achievement aimed before the 2012 Convention Bangkok History of RLI

  12. Courses throughout the year • All Rotarians can participate in courses in all locations • recommended 6 months interval between courses When and where can you take the courses?

  13. District membership dues • Voluntary District donations • Donations from faculty members • No RI funding RLI Financing – self funding

  14. 9010 - French division • 9100 - West Africa Division • 9110 - Nigeria Division • 9125 - Nigeria Division • 9140 - Nigeria Division • 9200 - East Africa Division • 9210 - Southern Africa Division • 9220 - French Division • 9400 - Southern Africa Division • 2450 - Egypt 9270, 9320 and 9350 are yet to join RLI in Africa

Resolutions to Join RLI were passed at the conferences of Districts 9110, 9130, 9120 and 9140 in 2009 • Formal admission • RLI Nigeria division to RLI • breakfast meeting of RLI in Birmingham • 24 June 2009 • One district in Nigeria was recognised as the 200th District to join RLI History of RLI Nigeria Division
