RAILS Consortia Committee • Newly formed • Replaces RAILS LLSAP Task Force • Rich Wolff appointed by SWAN Board as SWAN liaison • Committee charge approved at June RAILS Bd Mtg • Includes: ensuring continuity of services, enhancing, affordable membership • Investigate overlay products, oversee RFP, make recommendation

Network Changes SWAN needs a new network • Old MLS domain must end (mls.lib.il.us • swan.mls.lib.il.us = WebPAC • Move to independent network within RAILS data center (currently mixed in with RAILS Burr Ridge office network) • Current external & internal IP address must change • Prepares SWAN for any future network changes

  8. Network Changes Coming • Domain Name changes under consideration listed below (not set yet, so wait for announcement)

Network Changes • What will happen next? • Review survey questions at Technology Users Group meeting & Comm of Whole meeting • IT Survey will be sent out: 2 week completion • Network change date will be announced • Phase-in changes where possible • New Millennium client install required • Coordinate IP changes with vendors, your IT staff (example OverDrive, 3M Cloud, etc.) • Prepare for go-live day changes

Network Changes: What’s Next? • SWAN will select its new internal IP address • Release memos detailing changes required • Old MLS website, ends July 30th • Use “support.swanlibraries.net” • SWANcom email list migration by July 30th • swancom@mls.lib.il.us will be swancom@swanlibraries.net • Converting Other Lists: • swanboard@swanlibraries.net • swangova@swanlibraries.net • swangovb@swanlibraries.net • swangovc@swanlibraries.net • swancirc@swanlibraries.net

  11. ILS Committee Update • New “Migration Bulletin” menu • RFP document draft underway • 2 day meeting with consultant Rob McGee • Preparing Task Force Self-nominations Online

  12. ILS Committee Update • RFP Guidelines Once Issued: • RFP will be posted on SWAN website • Any vendors contact you or ask questions, refer to Aaron Skog • Avoid bias or giving a vendor a “leg up” • Past tactics for consortia include letters from current vendor, out-of-the-blue phone calls

  13. Millennium Upgrade • Preparation for R2011.1.4 Upgrade • R2011.1.4 & R2009.1.5 released June 20th • OCLC Control Number Expansion • MANDATORY • JAR downloads to client • III postponed R2011.1.4 & R2009.1.5 • Waiting for Test Server Upgrade to R2011 • Goal: Production Upgrade Sept 2013
